HOW WE score PROJECTS

Design by Patricia Lopez/Baskervill

About the AC Charlotte

The design for the AC Hotel Charlotte SouthPark was largely inspired by Spanish sculptor Xavier Corbero and his poetic vision for the world, specifically represented in his labyrinth home. As you pass through the hotel’s entry, the space envelops the guest in a restrained European modernism, taking on the architectural silhouette of a sculptor. To manifest this vision, arches and curves are repeated throughout. The final design is an eloquent response to the original vision, marrying the AC brand story with the distinctive sculptural influences of Corbero in unexpected and meaningful ways.

Design by Patricia Lopez

Patricia Lopez’s life, and career, are centered on her core belief: bring love and laughter to everything you do. It’s a philosophy rooted in her Latin upbringing – where joy infused everything from food to style – and a central tenet of her design ethos today. Her commitment to getting to know her clients means Patricia’s designs are not only ‘grammable' bu ut highly curated, layered, and functionally-sound. Having spent the entirety of her career in hospitality design, Patricia has an acute understanding of how hotels operate, where owners will see the most return on their investments, and how design decisions can shape the operational efficiency and performance of a property. A Boutique 18 Honoree in 2020, Patricia thrives on collaboration and connection with clients and colleagues alike.
